For Esme, with love and squalor and a Perfect day for Bananafish still resonate with me today, a good 25 to 30 years after reading them.
It was cute. I enjoyed the descriptions of 1920's life and dress, but the main character seemed shallow to me. Reminded me a lot of Hush Hush in tone and depth (mysterious boy, doomed romance, time and/or space keeping them separated), so if you liked that than you'll love this. I may pick up the second book, but there are too many other richly written teen books out there for me to waste much time (pun intended).
