To follow Bateman’s descent into madness is an experience unlike that of any other book. It is a train crash in ultra slow-motion, fascinating, intriguing and horrific. Reflecting on his thoughts on society and himself will present you with psychological and philosophical questions regarding yourself and your social role. And that is very rewarding. if you can endure the droning shallow descriptions of people, restaurants and dress codes, and want to read a brilliant blood-dripping satire that is sure to impact you on a personal level - read the book! If you want a very light, watered down and good looking version, check out the movie.
Thought this one was pretty good, especially for the 14th book in a series. But at that same time, I find myself growing a little tired of Harry's schtick and snark. And without giving anything away, something happens at the end that sets things up for the next book and I really am not happy about it. So I am unsure if I will continue with the series. That being said, despite a few earlier clunker installments, Cold Days is solid and well-worth reading.
Brilliant. Dr. Ray - a physician, poet and philanderer all compete to tell his story. So many brilliant quotes - as soon as I finished it I started it right back over again.
