wow, amazing. 3rd time I read it. Second time I don't even think I made it through first 100pgs. This time, it was magical. Some sections could have used editing and they were just plain boring but it was incredible. I sobbed out loud when his cousin died. Don't remember the last time I did that. The idea that Hans chose to stay despite him probably not being sick at all, the scene where he gets lost on the mountain--brilliant brilliant brilliant!
I was a little skeptical at first but then found myself loving this book. The art is really cool, I love Ted Naifeh's style. Courtney is a grumpy and asocial (well most of the time) and highly entertaining.I could see it appealing to both kids and adults.
