** spoiler alert ** A very enjoyable book, nothing much happens but the characters are so interesting in a nice way that it is a most relaxing read. Ending was a bit sudden but for once I will let it off. Set in the spring in Italy and made me feel warm and springlike.
Nicholas Sparks did a great job on this story! I mean, the plot is outstanding as if I'm watching a suspense movie where I got chills while reading this. To sum it up, here's my point of view how Nicholas Sparks got the title: Singer, a Great Dane, is a gift that Julie BArenson got from her late husband who left a package from a boy who delivers it at her doorsteps. The dog's duty is to be her companion wherever she goes. Later on, you'll get to love the dog at the end of this book, wherein Singer did something heroic to save Julie's life! Mike Harris - is a dainty guy who was her husband's best friend and the closest friend that Julie could ever had. Not until in the middle of the story, they fall in love and Mike is now the one who continues to keep an eye on Julie till it requires to sacrifice his own life!. Richard Franklin - seems to be the most perfect guy that Julie Barenson have ever dated! A wealthy man who keep his past and identity private. He's the main reason why this story creeps the hell out of me, okay. And I really like how the story ended. Well, what can I say I'm a huge fan of psycho-thriller novels. The twists, mysteries, and the revelations of Richard's dark past is striking. What a great story! I wasn't expecting that he could write something like this. I mean how can he turn this novel into a movie? Anyhow, this includes now as one of my favorites books. Okay, don't judge me.
