someone who i greatly admire suggested and loaned me this book. at first blush, it was a bit intimidating, but i muddled through, reading and re-reading. am now captured and moving warp-speed ahead. and wondering, do we, in current-day time, have so much greed, self-centeredness, so much a need for more, that we will follow wherever we think attaining more may be, be it technology, materialism, etc., without care for whether it is right or wrong, or it harms other, just to fill some insatiable perceived need, to the detriment of humankind? Something else to ponder --- this book was written by a woman in 1937. Think about that. huge on so many levels. writing style is very different from that which i am accustom, but i like the book thusfar. Mar 30th, 2009 Update: book finished. in the end, Freud wins. life (and humanity) is a circle. AHHHHH!!!!
Wow. Poweful ending. I am thoroughly freaked out. These shucking' Cranks are gonna scare the klunk outta me. Lol I always use glider slang. Now for the whole ending thing. (view spoiler)
